A fantastic opportunity has become available for a retail HR advisor to join our fast paced, energetic human resources team. This position is located at our support office in Palmerston North, however your focus will be on supporting our 18 nationwide retail branches which employ over 300 team members. 

You may have recently graduated with your degree in Human Resource Management, or you may have a year or two under your belt and be looking to take the next step in your HR career.  What we are really looking for is that right person who is passionate about providing exceptional support to our business, and has the right attributes to grow into a brilliant HR professional. 

This position will initially be responsible for providing recruitment, selection, induction, and trial period support, advice and documents to our retail network.  Yet there is also so much room for development and growth!  As long as you have a good level of HR theory, an eye for detail, and have the right attitude and passion towards HR, you will receive coaching, mentoring, and support to eventually progress onto more complex processes such as investigations, PIP’s, and PDP’s.  It is also envisioned that eventually nationwide travel will be required.

You will have exceptional interpersonal skills and the desire to support and help others, but you will be willing to face those tough conversations with humility and tact.  You will be positive, supportive, and truly listen to and understand others points of view.  You will be capable of developing positive relationships across the business and will embrace change while encouraging others to do so as well.  You will be able to prioritize your workload and take responsibility for meeting commitments and following through on actions.

Your days will be varied as you will just never know what could come across your desk, or what that next phone call will bring. 

To be considered for the role you will also need to have:

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Word which includes ability to format complex documents
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task managing multiple deadlines
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
